Facedown

Here are some questions upon which you can reflect and in light of Sunday's sermon.

1. Do you desire a more causual or reverent style of worship? If so, which service do you
attend? What, in your opinion would make it more reverent?

2. Have you ever bowed facedown before God? Are you willing to do so? Why or why not?

3. What one thought from Sunday's message did you take away from worship?

4. What other comments or questions would you like to offer?

(It has been gentley pointed out to me that I need to be aware that some because of physical limitations cannot bow down. I am grateful for that reminder. I apologize for not being more sensitive to that. Physically bowing down is not really the issue, it is attitude of the heart. You know and God knows when in your heart you are bowed down.)

I attend the 11:05 worship service because it offers me both casual and reverent forms of worship. I need the casual worship setting to be able to understand the message and to meet God where I'm at; I need the reverent form of worship to focus on God and for personal reflection (getting real with myself and God). I find both of these at 11:05 with the music, message, and atmosphere.

Facedown was a great experience for me and I want to try to incorporate that in my daily life. Not only do I see it as a physical way to express my submission, but I also found it removed distractions.

I attend the 9:30 service more out of convenience than anything else, but I do not feel hindered in my worship in anyway. I feel free to raise my hands to the Lord "offering up" my worship and praise. I do attend the contemporary service at times and have experienced the same freedom. To me the worship comes from within and as such you should feel free to express it whatever service you attend.

I have been face down before the Lord in prayer before. I have experienced awesome communion with the Lord in those times and I REALLY need to get back to that routine.

Thanks Will for challenging us to move out of our comfort zones and approach God where we're at.
